A mixed SEN secondary school situated near Woolwich, who provide for children with profound and multiple learning difficulties, including verbal and non-verbal autism, is currently recruiting for a new member of support staff. They are looking for an outstanding teaching assistant to join their team full time.
If you are looking for a new role within SEN education, this could be the opportunity for you! Having the following qualities, experience or being open to carrying out the following duties would be beneficial for work at this school:
- Previous experience of supporting children with PMLD/ASC
- Willing to support 1:1 or small groups
- Educated up to A levels or degree level
- Training in PECS/ Makaton/BSL/Team Teach/Moving and Handling
- Nurturing attitude
- Calm and patient manner
- Able to provide personal care, including assisting with toileting and changing
Teaching Personnel can offer access to CPD training courses, and the school will offer you a full induction programme. You will be working in an experienced team at this well established school. They have a great reputation in the local area and were last graded as 'good' by Ofsted.
A pension scheme is available, as well as a referral bonus of £50 if you recommend another teaching assistant or fully qualified teacher to Teaching Personnel.
