Teaching Assistant required for large SEN School in South Croydon

  • £58 - £85 per day, dependent on experience
  • National insurance and pension scheme contribution paid for you

Teaching Personnel is currently working with a large, outstanding SEN school in South Croydon that caters for students between the ages of 3-19 years who have profound and multiple learning difficulties. Many students are wheelchair users with complex medical needs; many also have visual and hearing impairments.

The school is looking for a full time Teaching Assistant who has:

  • Experience of SEN and a good understanding of how to work with PMLD students
  • You will be working in a secondary age class
  • Providing personal care for students is something that you must be willing to do
  • Moving and handling training, or the ability to use hoist equipment is essential as this is required in nearly all classes

You must have a DBS registered on the update service, or be willing to complete a new application as soon as possible. Previous experience working in care is desirable as an alternative if you have never worked in an SEN school before.

The benefits of working at this school:

  • Start off as a temporary agency worker, but have the opportunity to apply for a permanent role with the school later in the academic year if you wish
  • They are extremely welcoming of agency staff, and will treat you as part of the team
  • You will work normal school hours 08:30am - 15:30pm, term time only
  • Very good transport links - the local bus route stops right outside the school

If you would like to make a real difference to disadvantaged and disabled children, please send your CV for consideration today if you are interested in applying for the work at this school.
