SEN Teaching Assistant

A specialist provision for young people with mental health needs are looking for specialist Teaching Assistants to join their team in New Addington. The school support the most vulnerable and those disengaged or segregated from learning in a safe, nurturing and caring environment. At this specific site, there are places for up to 18 young people, but they are looking at expanding after Easter and so are looking for more staff members. They offer a broad curriculum covering English, Maths, Land Science, Small Animal Care, ICT, Art, PHSE, Drama, PE, Food Tech and look for TAs with experience working with children with mental health needs and SEMH.

For the role, ideally you should aim to have Level 2 or 3 Teaching Assistant qualification and basic literacy and numeracy skills (GCSE or equivalent, in Maths and English) but this is not always required if you have previously worked with children.
