SEN Teaching Assistant
Full-Time, Long Term Position
£11.83 - 12.20 p/h
A long-term opportunity has arisen for a qualified teaching assistant with experience of supporting an individual with special educational needs. An Ofsted graded ‘GOOD’ primary school in Fulwood is in the process of recruiting for a one-to-one support assistant to start from May 2023.
This role is to work 1:1 with a Year 2 pupil with Autism, the Teaching Assistant’s main role will be aiding the pupil in accessing the school curriculum through supportive measures. The pupil has demonstrated behavioural issues in the past and therefore supporting the Class Teacher with strong behaviour management is also key to this role.
The school has excellent public transport links and a secure car park. It is situated in an area that has lower than average deprivation and the school has lower than average levels of pupils accessing Pupil Premium. Behaviour in the school is rated as ‘GOOD’ by Ofsted and the management team are very supportive of ALL staff in the school.
The Head Teacher is keen to secure an education practitioner who is looking to join a highly supportive team of staff and make a positive contribution to the wider life of the school. The successful candidate will demonstrate a commitment to their work and a proactive and hard-working attitude.
Job Description: Essential Requirements
- Level 2 teaching assistant qualification or above
- Experience of providing support within a primary school setting
- Experience of supporting individuals with SEN
- Strong behaviour management
- Ability to build strong working relationships in a school setting
- Expected to attend staff meetings and CPD opportunities (twilights)
- Experience working alongside children behaviour in a primary setting.

All pay rates quoted will be inclusive of 12.07% statutory holiday pay. This advert is for a temporary position. In some cases, the option to make this role permanent may become available at a later date.
