SEN Teaching Assistant

Teaching Personnel are working hard to recruit an SEN Teaching Assistant for a client school on the outskirts of Garstang. The School caters specifically for pupils who have additional learning needs including; Autism, ADHD, Learning Difficulties and challenging behaviours. Many of the students are in care of foster placements and a number of them come from disadvantaged backgrounds. Some of the pupils struggle to engage in education or even attend school at all. 

The school are looking for a full time Teaching Assistant to work alongside the teacher in managing behaviour effectively, assisting the students with their work and enabling all pupils to access the curriculum. 

The role will start after the October half term on a temporary - permanent basis and the school hours are 8.35am - 3.05pm Monday - Friday. 

The candidate applying for this role must have: 

- Experience supporting pupils with SEN 

- Experience managing challenging behaviour 

- Be compassionate, empathetic and resilient 

- GCSE's (A-C) minimum 

- Be seeking a long term role

All pay rates quoted will be inclusive of 12.07% statutory holiday pay. This advert is for a temporary position. In some cases, the option to make this role permanent may become available at a later date.
