Part-time SEN Teaching Assistant- Southgate

We are working with an excellent special school based in Southgate.

The school provides education predominantly to students with an EHCP assessment of Autism and some speech and language difficulties. All classes have a class teacher and 2-3 teaching assistants to help support the students in their education, assisting with learning, emotional and behavioural support.

The school has low challenging behaviours and often offers 1-1 support for students who need additional help with speech and language so candidtaes with experience working in a 1-1 capacity with ASC are encouraged to apply as well as those with experience using PECS and Makaton.

They are currently looking for a part-time teaching assistant to work on a 1-1 basis with a primary aged student with autism. The student has moderate speech and language difficulties and will be using PECS regularly in lessons so a good knowledge/understanding of how to use these are desireable.

The ideal candidate must:

-Have experience working 1-1 with students with ASC

-Be available Thursdays and Fridays weekly 8.15am-3.45pm

-Have understanding of how to use PECS
