1:1 SEN Teaching Assistant required in Sturminster Newton, North Dorset!

A special needs school in North Dorset are looking for a 1:1 Teaching Assistant to join their team.

This 'Excellent' Ofsted rated school caters for 131 children between the ages of 2 and 19 with profound and multiple (PMLD), Severe (SLD) or complex learning difficulties. Some children have additional sensory or physical impairments, speech and language disorders or medical needs, others are on the autistic spectrum.

The successful applicant will be working with pupils with a variety of complex needs as well as working on a 2:1 basis with a young person that presents extreme challenging behaviour so you should have experience supporting young people with similar needs. You should also:

• Be able to demonstrate a good understanding of the role of a Teaching Assistant in a special needs school
• Have the ability to engage pupils in their learning and support them in their social, emotional and personal well being
• Have the ability to build positive relationships with pupils and other professionals

Full time and part time applicants will be considered.

The school is not easily accessed by public transport so a full UK driving licence and access to a vehicle is essential.
