SEN Teaching Assistant

Do you have experience working with young people with Special Educational Needs? Are you seeking a new challenge in a Trafford secondary school?

Teaching Personnel have been approached by a secondary school located in the Trafford area of Manchester, in order to recruit an SEN Teaching Assistant to join their pastoral team. This SEN Teaching Assistant position is for a full time, on going role, starting in January 2019. There is an opportunity for a school based contract for the successful SEN Teaching Assistant, following an introduction from Teaching Personnel. The school are seeking an SEN Teaching Assistant who has an empathetic nature, and will be able to engage with young people with Special Educational Needs, ranging severity. This position presents an opportunity for a highly rewarding role, where you will have a real and positive impact on the lives of these young people.

  • Pay rate up to £1300 per month depending on experience

The secondary school is located in a rural area of Trafford, in an affluent Manchester suburb. The school is easily accessible for drivers, 10 minutes from Manchester's ring road, and also has direct public transport links from Manchester city centre. The school has highly dedicated pastoral team, who nurture more vulnerable pupils across the school. The schools ethos back up the focus on pastoral care and their pupils well being.

As an SEN Teaching Assistant, you will be working closely with a cohort of pupils varying in ages, in order to provide pastoral support. The school are seeking a patient and empathetic SEN Teaching experience. In your role as an SEN Teaching Assistant, you will be working with students with a range of SEN needs. These will include; mild autism, Social Emotional Mental Health (SEMH) needs, ADHD, learning difficulties (dyslexia and dyspraxia). Experience working with pupils with these needs is desirable but not essential.
