A co-educational secondary school that is located in the Stretford area of south Manchester is looking to recruit an SEN Teaching Assistant from January. The successfully appointed SEN Teaching Assistant is required from Monday 4th January for the remainder of the school year with the opportunity to take on a school-based contract for the following academic year.

SEN TA role:

Working with the school’s SENCO, the SEN Teaching Assistant will be based in both mainstream classes and in the school’s internal resource centre. Whilst working in classes, the SEN Teaching Assistant will be supporting identified students who have additional needs. This will include assisting a small group of approximately 3 students who have Autism, ADHD and moderate learning difficulties. The majority of support will take within the core subjects of Maths and English at the lower KS3 level. Working within the school’s internal resource centre will find the SEN Teaching Assistant supporting the lead teacher with the teaching of a variety of subject material. This will involve working with students in a similar way to general classes but sometimes on a 1:1 basis.

Given the above aspects of the role, any prior experience of supporting students in this way is highly desirable but transferable experience is also relevant from a care capacity perhaps. Any experience of working within a school environment should be highlighted on your application accordingly.

Highlights of this SEN Teaching Assistant position:

  • Competitive pay rate, earn up to GBP1350 per month
  • Full time SEN TA required from Monday 4th January
  • Opportunity to secure a school based contract for the 2021/2022 academic year
  • Highly reputable and outstanding mixed secondary school situated in the south Manchester area of Stretford
  • Relatively large, understanding support team who all work well together; become part of this cohesive team

The school:

This school is a large secondary school located in the Stretford, housed in an impressive building set in pleasant residential surroundings. Boasting fantastic facilities including a fully equipped gym and a well-resourced support centre, this school takes pride in providing the very best provision for all students especially those with special educational needs.

Being centrally located, the school is very easy to travel to for those on public transport given its links to the city centre. The school has plenty of parking in the surrounding streets near to school as well as well sized on-site car park which is secured with an automated barrier and entry. The Metrolink services this school well so any prospective Teaching Assistant living further away is encouraged to apply if on public transport.

If you are an experienced SEN Teaching Assistant looking for a long term support role at a highly supportive mixed secondary school, then apply now with your latest CV for immediate consideration.

All applicants will require the appropriate qualifications and training for this role. Please see teachingpersonnel.com/faqs for details.
