Special Needs Teaching Assistant - York
Do you have a keen interest in supporting vulnerable children?
Are you looking for a new challenge?
Is Acomb within travelling distance?
If yes, Teaching Personnel may have the ideal job for you!
Who are we?
Teaching Personnel are the UK’s largest and most successful Education Recruitment Agency, offering work to over 10,000 people on a weekly basis. With specialist consultants across SEN, Primary and Secondary sectors, we will endeavour to find you your ideal job role. Whether you are looking for day to day supply, short term or long term placements, we can help you!
What Schools do we work with?
As the SEN Consultant for York and Scarborough, I support a number of Schools. One of my main Clients is a Primary School in Acomb, which caters for children with a range of Special Educational Needs. With 15 classes across the School, the Academy is constantly expanding. With most classes having up to 8 children, staff ratios are high and are usually on a 2:1 basis. Do you have experience managing behaviour effectively, or supporting those with a range of learning difficulties, physical disabilities or autism? If so then you could add value to the School and enhance their pupil’s learning.
What do I need to work with Teaching Personnel?
As a candidate for Teaching Personnel, we expect a high level of professionalism from you and Schools are keen to see you be enthusiastic and proactive. With SEN and Behaviour Schools having unexpected pupils on roll from week to week, you need to be adaptable to the environment and understand how different types of Special Educational Needs can affect people.
What are the benefits of working with Teaching Personnel?
We pay all of our candidates fairly according to the job role and Teaching Assistants are paid a minimum of GBP10 her hour, including holiday pay. You are paid through our PAYE payroll every Friday, meaning there are no deductions for umbrella companies. There are even additional bonuses such as GBP50 every time you recommend a colleague! You will have access to a range of online and in-house CPD training courses, such as Team Teach, Moving and Handling, Child Psychology and Level 4 Diploma in SEN.
When can I have work offered to me?
As we head into the most unusual start of an Academic Year, temporary cover will be needed now more than ever.
If this is of interest to you, please call Kerry Fowler on 01482 908020 or upload your CV via the application link.
All applicants will require the appropriate qualifications and training for this role. Please see teachingpersonnel.com/faqs for details.
All pay rates quoted will be inclusive of 12.07% statutory holiday pay. This advert is for a temporary position. In some cases, the option to make this role permanent may become available at a later date.
Teaching Personnel is committed to safeguarding and promoting the welfare of children. We offer all our registered candidates FREE child protection and prevent duty training. All candidates must undertake or have undertaken a valid enhanced Disclosure and Barring Service (DBS) check. Full assistance provided.
