If so, we have an exciting opportunity for you to join our team as a SEN Teaching Assistant at a reputable secondary school in Manchester.
Job Description:
As a SEN Teaching Assistant, you will work closely with the SEN department, teachers, and other professionals to provide tailored support to students with special educational needs. Your main responsibilities will include:
1. Assisting in the implementation of individual education plans (IEPs) for students with SEN.
2. Supporting students in accessing the curriculum and participating in classroom activities.
3. Providing one-on-one or small group support to students who require additional assistance.
4. Monitoring and recording student progress, highlighting any concerns or achievements to relevant staff.
5. Collaborating with teachers to create and adapt resources to meet individual student needs.
6. Promoting inclusion and fostering positive relationships with students, parents, and staff.
7. Assisting with personal care tasks, if required.
Requirements:
To be successful in this role, you should possess the following qualifications and attributes:
1. Relevant experience: Previous experience working with students with SEN is highly desirable. This could include experience gained through volunteering, placements, or previous employment.
2. Knowledge of SEN: A good understanding of different types of special educational needs and strategies for supporting students with SEN is essential.
3. Patience and empathy: The ability to remain patient, calm, and empathetic when working with students who may have challenging behaviours or communication difficulties.
4. Communication skills: Strong verbal and written communication skills are crucial for effectively liaising with students, parents, and staff.
5. Teamwork: The ability to work collaboratively as part of a team, supporting colleagues and contributing to the overall success of the SEN department.
6. Flexibility: Willingness to adapt to the changing needs of students and the school environment.

All pay rates quoted will be inclusive of 12.07% statutory holiday pay. This advert is for a temporary position. In some cases, the option to make this role permanent may become available at a later date.
