SEN Teaching Assistant – Wakefield

Location: Wakefield
Pay: £90 – £105 per day
Contract: Full-Time | Long-Term | Temp-to-Perm Opportunities

We are recruiting a dedicated SEN Teaching Assistant to work within primary schools across Wakefield, supporting pupils with SEMH, challenging behaviour, and complex needs.

This is a hands-on role for someone confident with personal care, behaviour support, and building strong, trusting relationships with vulnerable learners.

Key Responsibilities:

• Support pupils with complex needs
• Deliver personal care and assist with moving & handling
• Implement behaviour strategies
• Work 1:1 and in small groups
• Support emotional regulation and engagement
• Work collaboratively with teachers, therapists, and SENCOs

Ideal Candidate:

✅ Confident supporting personal care and behaviour
✅ Patient, resilient, and nurturing approach
✅ Enhanced DBS on the Update Service (or willing to apply)

All pay rates quoted will be inclusive of 12.07% statutory holiday pay. This advert is for a temporary position. In some cases, the option to make this role permanent may become available at a later date.
