Job Title: SEN Teaching Assistant

Hours: 8:45am to 3:15pm

Teaching Personnel, a leading education agency, is currently recruiting for a dedicated Special Educational Needs (SEN) Teaching Assistant to join a reputable SEN school in Totton. The school comprises two sites, one for primary children aged 5-11 and the other for secondary students aged 11-16, both catering to children with Profound and Multiple Learning Difficulties (PMLD).

Responsibilities:

  • Provide support to students with PMLD in both primary and secondary settings.
  • Assist in the implementation of individualised education plans (IEPs) and support strategies.
  • Foster a positive and inclusive learning environment for students.
  • Collaborate with teachers and other support staff to address the unique needs of each student.
  • Promote independence and encourage social interaction among students.

Requirements:

  • Previous experience working with children with PMLD is desirable.
  • Relevant qualifications in education or special education are advantageous.
  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Patience, empathy, and a genuine passion for supporting students with special needs.
  • Ability to work collaboratively within a team.

Working Hours:

This is a full-time position with working hours from 8:45am to 3:15pm, Monday to Friday.

Contract:

This is a permanent role, and a school contract will be offered after a probationary period.

All pay rates quoted will be inclusive of 12.07% statutory holiday pay. This advert is for a temporary position. In some cases, the option to make this role permanent may become available at a later date.
