Position: SEN Teaching Assistant

School: SEN School - Two sites catering to primary (5-11) and secondary (11-16) aged children with Profound and Multiple Learning Disabilities (PMLD).

Role:

We are seeking a dedicated and enthusiastic SEN Teaching Assistant to join our dynamic team at a reputable SEN School in Totton. As a crucial member of our educational community, you will provide specialised support to primary and secondary aged students with PMLD. This is a full-time position, Monday to Friday, 8:45am to 3:15pm, with the opportunity for a permanent contract after a probation period.

Responsibilities:

• Offer one-on-one and group support to students with PMLD.
• Implement individual education plans (IEPs) and behaviour plans.
• Collaborate with the class teacher to create an inclusive and engaging learning environment.
• Foster the well-being and development of students with special needs.

Requirements:

• Previous experience in a special educational needs setting or working with children with PMLD.
• Relevant qualifications in education, health, or social care.
• Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
• Patience, resilience, and a genuine passion for supporting the learning and development of children with special needs.
