SEN Teaching Assistant (EYFS & KS1)
Thornton | Full-Time | ASAP Start
Teaching Personnel are seeking a dedicated and compassionate SEN Teaching Assistant to join a welcoming primary school in Thornton on a full-time basis, starting as soon as possible.
This is a rewarding opportunity to support children across EYFS and Key Stage 1 who have a range of Special Educational Needs (SEN). The successful candidate will play a vital role in helping pupils access learning, develop confidence, and achieve their full potential within a nurturing and inclusive environment.
The Role
As an SEN Teaching Assistant, you will:
- Provide tailored support to pupils with identified special educational needs across EYFS and KS1.
- Work closely with class teachers and the SENCO to deliver individualised learning and intervention programmes.
- Support pupils both within the classroom and through small group or one-to-one sessions.
- Encourage positive behaviour and help create a safe, engaging learning environment.
- Assist with the development of communication, social, emotional and academic skills.
- Build strong relationships with pupils, staff, and parents to support pupil progress.

We are looking for someone who:
- Has previous experience working with children with SEN within a school, nursery, or care setting.
- Demonstrates patience, empathy, and a genuine passion for supporting children with additional needs.
- Has strong communication and teamwork skills.
- Can adapt their approach to meet the individual needs of pupils.
- Is committed to promoting inclusion and helping children thrive in their educational journey.

All pay rates quoted will be inclusive of 12.07% statutory holiday pay. This advert is for a temporary position. In some cases, the option to make this role permanent may become available at a later date.
