SEN Teaching Assistant Required - Primary School in Thornton

Teaching Personnel are currently seeking a dedicated and compassionate SEN Teaching Assistant to join a welcoming primary school in Thornton. This is an excellent opportunity for an individual who is passionate about supporting children with additional needs and making a positive difference to their educational journey.

The successful candidate will work primarily with pupils across Key Stage 2, providing tailored support to children with identified Special Educational Needs (SEN) to help them access learning, build confidence, and achieve their full potential.

The Role:

• Provide one-to-one and small group support for pupils with a range of additional needs.
• Work closely with class teachers and the SENCO to implement personalised learning strategies.
• Support pupils both academically and socially throughout the school day.
• Encourage positive behaviour and promote engagement in learning.
• Assist with monitoring progress and contributing to pupil development plans.
• Build strong, supportive relationships with pupils, staff, and parents.

The Ideal Candidate Will Have:

• Experience working with children with Special Educational Needs, either in a school setting or a similar environment.
• A patient, caring, and resilient approach.
• Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
• The ability to adapt learning activities to meet individual needs.
• A genuine passion for supporting children to overcome barriers to learning.
• Relevant TA qualifications are desirable but not essential.
