SEN Teaching Assistant opportunity at one of our Infant School (ASAP Start)
Are you a compassionate and experienced SEN Teaching Assistant looking for your next role? We are working with a lovely infant school that is seeking a dedicated individual to join their team on a full-time basis, starting ASAP.
This role is perfect for someone who has experience supporting children with a range of special educational needs and is passionate about making a difference in the lives of young learners. As an SEN Teaching Assistant, you’ll play a vital role in helping children overcome challenges, promoting inclusivity, and supporting them to reach their full potential in a nurturing and supportive environment.
About the role:
Position: KS1, 1:1 Teaching Assistant
Location: Bitterne
Start date: Monday 2nd June - until summer
Key Responsibilities:

Provide tailored support to children with a variety of SEN, ensuring their learning and development needs are met

Work closely with the class teacher to deliver individual and group interventions
-
Assist in the creation of resources and strategies to support learning for students with diverse needs
-
Foster a positive, inclusive classroom environment where children feel safe, confident, and motivated
-
Support children with both academic and emotional development, promoting independence and self-esteem
-
Collaborate with the wider school team and outside professionals to ensure all children receive the support they need
What we’re looking for:
-
Previous experience as a SEN Teaching Assistant, ideally within an infant school setting
-
A strong understanding of a variety of SEN needs and strategies to support these children
-
Patience, empathy, and a genuine passion for working with young children
-
The ability to work effectively as part of a team, while also using your initiative
-
Excellent communication skills and a proactive approach to supporting both children and staff

All pay rates quoted will be inclusive of 12.07% statutory holiday pay. This advert is for a temporary position. In some cases, the option to make this role permanent may become available at a later date.
