Teaching Personnel are recruiting on Behalf of a SEN School in the Redruth area who are looking for a Teaching Assistant full time expereinced SEN Teaching Assistants to join them in January. You will be supporting students who could have high levels of need and work at a low academic level. The students can have some complex needs so there are alternative methods of learning. There is a lot of play therapy with the students and their work is mostly photographic evidence. The role will be contracted after a 15 week probation period.

Desirable

  • DBS Child & Adult Workforce DBS which is on the update service or be prepared to obtain one.
  • Experience with children or adults with additional needs. 
  • Exeprience within the care sector or specialist schools
  • Experience working with in a social work setting
  •  Additional qualifications such as autism awareness or SEN qualifications
  • First Aid trained
  • Makaton or P.E.C.S. 
  • Degree 

The perfect candidate will be able to build relationships with students quickly and will have to be a strong personality as students can show some challenging behaviours. The School will be able to support you with any career progression and are a great school to work for!
