Job description

Position: Primary School SEN Teaching Assistant

Start date: September2025

Location: Penzance area

Salary: £90 - £97

Teaching Personnel are currently looking for an experienced SEN Teaching Assistant to work in a welcoming, engaging and positive primary school that offers an Exciting and thought-provoking approach to teaching and learning.

Responsibilities:

  • Assisting with managing the classroom.
  • Support students with their work and following class rules.
  • Support the teacher
  • Assist with lesson planning
  • Assist students with understanding and competing task set by the teacher

Requirements:

  • GCSE grade C or above in English & Maths
  • Experience working within primary schools
  • Have behaviour management skills
  • Strong communication skills
  • Have a good understanding of observational skills so you can help and support the teacher in monitoring students behaviour, Needs and wellbeing.

In order to work for Teaching Personnel and clear our vetting process, you must have a Child Workforce DBS subscribed to the Update Service. Full assistance will be provided should you need to apply for a new check, at a standard cost of £49.50, plus an annual subscription fee of £16 for the Update Service.

All pay rates quoted will be inclusive of 12.07% statutory holiday pay. This advert is for a temporary position. In some cases, the option to make this role permanent may become available at a later date.
