Special Educational Needs Teaching Assistant

Salary: GBP57 - GBP65 per day

Location: Penzance

Teaching Personnel are currently working closely with a well established SEN school in the Penzance area and require a Special Educational Needs TA to work specialising in providing an adapted curriculum for children who have had a diagnosis of Learning Difficulties and Autism. The school are in need of full time and part time staff who are passionate about working with SEN children and developing a career in education.

Your duties will include:

  • Undertaking tasks set by the class teacher.
  • Supporting children within the class.
  • Building up rapport between yourself and the pupils.
  • Managing the classroom under the direction of the class teacher.
  • Supporting children with SEN ranging from mild to severe.
  • Working with small groups or 1:1.
  • Working in collaboration with other professionals.

To apply for this position, you will need:

  • Recent experience of working in a Mainstream classroom or experience of working with children with special educational needs (SEN).
  • A strong passion to enhance the development of pupils.
  • An approachable and positive attitude.
  • Hold relevant qualifications.
  • Ideally Team Teach Trained. (Not essential and can be completed within our company)
  • Be confident in working with small groups and 1:1.
  • Hold a current DBS on the update service or be willing to take one.
