Join Our Team as an SEN Teaching Assistant – All-Boys SEMH School
Are you passionate about making a meaningful difference in the lives of young people? We're looking for committed and resilient SEN Teaching Assistants to join our supportive team at an all-boys SEMH (Social, Emotional, and Mental Health) school.
Our school has been thriving for the past three years and is proud to offer a temp-to-perm model with a strong focus on staff well-being, high-quality training, and a genuine duty of care.
The Role:
You’ll be working closely with young boys who have faced barriers to learning, come from challenging backgrounds, and helping them re-engage with education and build positive relationships. Whether you're providing 1:1 support or working with small groups, your role will be vital in guiding their academic, emotional, and social development.
What We’re Looking For:
- Experience working 1:1 or in group settings with children/young people, ideally in SEMH environments
- Bonus if you have training or experience in safeguarding, Makaton, PECS, or Team Teach
- A calm, resilient, and proactive attitude
- Genuine passion for supporting children with complex needs
- Flexibility and patience to handle challenging situations
- Full-time availability and a long-term mindset
Requirements:
- An Enhanced DBS on the update service (or willing to obtain one)
- Overseas Police Check (OCC) if you’ve lived abroad for 6+ months in the last 5 years
- An up-to-date CV detailing your work with children/young people
- Relevant experience supporting SEN or SEMH learners

All pay rates quoted will be inclusive of 12.07% statutory holiday pay. This advert is for a temporary position. In some cases, the option to make this role permanent may become available at a later date.
