SEN Teaching Assistant

Salary: £22,996 – £25,068 (actual salary, dependent on experience and qualifications)
Contract: Permanent, Full-Time (Term Time Only)
Location: Meldreth, Cambridgeshire
Hours: 40 hours per week, Monday to Friday (8:30am – 5:00pm)
Start Date: ASAP


About the School

Our partner school is a specialist independent day provision supporting students aged 6–19 with a range of Moderate Learning Difficulties (MLD) and Severe Learning Difficulties (SLD), including autism spectrum conditions, ADHD, and associated needs.

The school provides a highly personalised and nurturing environment for learners who may also present with complex medical needs, sensory or physical impairments, and challenges around anxiety, confidence, and transitions. Staff play a vital role in helping students manage these barriers and thrive both academically and personally.


The Role

As an SEN Teaching Assistant, you will play a key role in supporting students’ learning, development, and overall wellbeing across a variety of settings — including the classroom, outdoor learning environments, and the wider community.

You will:

  • Support students across the curriculum, adapting approaches to meet individual needs
  • Work with learners with PMLD, autism, and complex medical needs to achieve their goals
  • Promote independence, confidence, and emotional regulation
  • Contribute to a positive, inclusive environment where every young person is valued
  • Support personal care and, where necessary, physical intervention in line with training
  • Work collaboratively with teaching staff and multidisciplinary teams

All pay rates quoted will be inclusive of 12.07% statutory holiday pay. This advert is for a temporary position. In some cases, the option to make this role permanent may become available at a later date.
