Job description

SEN support assistant – Full time 

Teaching Personnel are partnering with a welcoming primary school in Chorlon-Cum-Hardy (M21) to find a dedicated and compassionate SEN Support Assistant. This is a full-time position, starting in January perfect for someone passionate about making a meaningful difference in young learner’s life.

The School has been rated ‘Good’ by Ofsted and is celebrated for its nurturing ethos and inclusive approach to education. You’ll be joining a collaborative, welcoming team that values the vital role support staff play in pupil development.

Your Role Will Include:

  • Providing targeted support to pupils with SEN, both individually and in small groups
  • Assisting the class teacher with planning and delivering personalised learning activities
  • Supporting the implementation and review of Individual Education Plans (IEPs)
  • Helping to maintain a safe, inclusive, and engaging learning environment
  • Working closely with teachers, SENCOs, and external professionals to monitor progress
  • Adapting support strategies to meet evolving pupil needs


What you’ll need:

  • Have a DBS or willing to get one.
  • Positive hard working attitude
  • Experience or passion for supporting SEN pupils
  • Experience working within SEND/youth support/ sports coaching or pastoral support (preferred but not essential).
  • Team Teach or equivalent trained (preferred but not essential).
  • Level 2 Safeguarding certification (or willingness to complete training)

All pay rates quoted will be inclusive of 12.07% statutory holiday pay. This advert is for a temporary position. In some cases, the option to make this role permanent may become available at a later date.
