Location: Luton
Salary: £90–£100 per day
Job Type: Full-Time, Term-Time (Contract)

We are working with welcoming and inclusive schools across Luton who are looking for Speech, Language and Communication Needs (SLCN) Support Assistants to join their teams. This is your chance to make a lasting difference in a child’s life while developing your career in the world of education and special needs.


Your Role:

  • Work closely with children with SLCN on a 1:1 or small group basis

  • Help implement personalised strategies and communication plans

  • Support teaching staff and speech & language therapists in delivering effective interventions

  • Encourage and guide pupils in developing their confidence and communication skills


We’re Looking For:

  • Experience working with children or young people (in schools, care settings, or similar)

  • A genuine passion for helping children overcome communication barriers

  • Patience, empathy, and great interpersonal skills

  • A DBS on the Update Service (or willingness to apply)

  • Strong teamwork and communication skills


Bonus if You Have:

  • Experience supporting children with autism, developmental delays, or communication difficulties

  • Training in tools like Makaton, PECS, or Attention Autism

  • A background in Speech and Language Therapy, SEN support, or child development

Location & Schedule:

  • Based in Luton – easily accessible by public transport or car

  • Full-time hours: approx. 8:30 AM – 3:30 PM, Monday to Friday
