Teaching Personnel is seeking caring, resilient, and dedicated Specialist SEN Teaching Assistants to work across schools and specialist provisions in Lowestoft and the surrounding areas.

The Role
As a Specialist SEN Teaching Assistant, you will:
- Provide one-to-one and small-group support to pupils with additional needs
- Assist teachers in delivering engaging and accessible learning activities
- Support pupils academically, socially, and emotionally
- Encourage positive behaviour and engagement in learning
- Help implement individual support plans and intervention programmes
- Promote independence, confidence, and personal development
- Work collaboratively with teachers, SENCOs, therapists, and other professionals
SEN Experience We Are Looking For
We are particularly interested in candidates with experience supporting pupils with:
- Autism Spectrum Condition (ASC)
- Attention Deficit Hyperactivity Disorder (ADHD)
- Social, Emotional and Mental Health (SEMH) needs
- Speech, Language and Communication Needs (SLCN)
- Moderate Learning Difficulties (MLD)
- Severe Learning Difficulties (SLD)
- Profound and Multiple Learning Difficulties (PMLD)
- Behavioural needs and emotional regulation challenges
- Sensory processing difficulties
Previous experience is desirable but not essential. We welcome applications from candidates with transferable experience from care, support work, youth work, coaching, or other child-centred roles.

Requirements
To be considered for this role, you must:
- Have experience working with children, young people, or individuals with additional needs
- Be committed to supporting the educational and personal development of pupils
- Be willing to work across a variety of SEN settings
- Hold a full UK driving licence and have access to your own transport, as travel to schools and specialist provisions throughout Lowestoft and the surrounding areas will be required
- Be committed to safeguarding and promoting the welfare of children and young people
