Teaching Assistant Role: Supporting SEN Learners in Lowestoft & Surrounding Areas
Do you have experience supporting children and young people with Special Educational Needs (SEN) across primary and secondary education? Are you passionate about helping pupils with additional learning needs reach their full potential?

Teaching Personnel is seeking experienced and dedicated Teaching Assistants to support pupils aged 6–16 across specialist schools and alternative provisions in Lowestoft and the surrounding areas. All pupils have an Education, Health and Care Plan (EHCP) and require tailored support to help them achieve both academically and personally.
As this role may involve working across different schools and provisions, a full UK driving licence and access to your own vehicle are essential.
Key Responsibilities:
- Support pupils with Autism, SEMH needs, and additional learning needs, including those who may display challenging behaviours.
- Deliver tailored interventions to meet individual EHCP targets.
- Adapt classroom activities and learning resources to suit a range of abilities.
- Promote positive behaviour, emotional regulation, and personal development.
- Work closely with teachers and other professionals to provide consistent, high-quality support.
- Build positive relationships that encourage confidence, engagement, and independence.
The Ideal Candidate:
- Has experience working with children or young people with SEN.
- Is adaptable, resilient, and confident working in a range of educational settings.
- Demonstrates empathy, patience, and a genuine passion for supporting young people.
- Is confident managing challenging behaviours using positive behaviour strategies.
- Is committed to ongoing training and professional development.
- Holds a full UK driving licence and has access to their own vehicle (essential).

All pay rates quoted will be inclusive of 12.07% statutory holiday pay. This advert is for a temporary position. In some cases, the option to make this role permanent may become available at a later date.
