Job Title: SEN Teaching Assistant (1:1 Support/Small Groups) – KS2
Location: Tuebrook Primary School
Salary: £14.25 - £15.00 / hour.
Contract Type: Full-time
Start Date: September 2026
About the Role:
We are seeking a compassionate, resilient, and skilled SEN Teaching Assistant to support a Catholic Primary School in Tuebrook. This full-time position involves providing 1:1 support for two pupils in KS2 with significant and distinct needs and when required, provide small group interventions for several pupils who also require additional support.
- Morning: You will support a Looked After Child (LAC) with social, emotional, and behavioural needs. The child requires a patient and consistent adult to help regulate behaviour and build trust.
- Afternoon: You will work with a pupil with Autism Spectrum Condition and Global Developmental Delay, offering structured, individualised support to help them access learning and social interaction.
Key Responsibilities:
- Build positive, trusting relationships with both pupils.
- Implement personalised strategies and interventions to support emotional regulation, communication, and learning.
- Work closely with the class teacher, SENCo, and external professionals.
- Support the pupils in accessing the curriculum in a way that suits their individual needs.
- Provide regular feedback and observations to staff and parents/carers (as appropriate).
Person Specification:
- Essential:
- Experience supporting children with SEN, including Autism and behavioural challenges.
- Empathy, patience, and the ability to stay calm under pressure.
- Commitment to safeguarding and promoting the welfare of children.
- Desirable:
- Experience working with Looked After Children (LAC).
- Knowledge of strategies to support Global Developmental Delay.
- Relevant qualifications (e.g., NVQ Level 2/3 in Supporting Teaching and Learning).

All pay rates quoted will be inclusive of 12.07% statutory holiday pay. This advert is for a temporary position. In some cases, the option to make this role permanent may become available at a later date.
