Job Title: SEN teaching Assistant

Job Type: Full Time, Permanent (Term time only)

Job Location: Southport, North West

Job Salary: £16,500 - £17,500 per annum

 

Teaching Personnel Permanent Workforce are currently working with an Ofsted rated 'Good' College situated in the Lancashire area, who are actively seeking a number of SEN Teaching Assistants to work on a full time, permanent basis (term time only).

 

The College is situated on 2 sites in Southport, a vibrant and cultured town on the west coast of Lancashire. The college makes the most of its position and much of the extended college curriculum is located within the community and vocational settings within the region. This is a specialist college for students aged 16-25 with autism, complex learning difficulties and challenging behaviours. The college works in line with the Preparing for Adulthood Agenda in promoting the health needs, independence skills, employability and community inclusion of the students.

Ideally, the successful candidate will have previous experience supporting in an education setting and have a Level 2 qualification, however this is not a requirement. Candidates should have the following qualities and characteristics:

  • Resilience – We support some of the most vulnerable young in society who have varying degrees of emotional behavioural difficulties, autism, ADHD and associated difficulties so there will be times where your resilience is challenged.  
  • Communication – Communicating with our young people is vital to understand their needs.  Good teamwork and communication plays a key part in ensuring important information is relayed to other staff.
  • Organisation – Strong organisational skills are important to support the class teacher and young people with educational activities 
  • Caring – Our young people require the best care we can offer.  If you are a naturally caring and compassionate person, this is the role for you.
  • Attentive – No two tasks will be the same so being attentive to understand them and identify areas where we can support is important.

All pay rates quoted will be inclusive of 12.07% statutory holiday pay. This advert is for a temporary position. In some cases, the option to make this role permanent may become available at a later date.
