SEN Teaching Assistant

Location:

Yorkshire and the Humber, West Yorkshire, Leeds, LS12

Job Type:

Temporary, expected to work Full-Time hours

Salary:

£85 - £100 Per day

Job Duties:

  • Supporting the educational and social development of children with special educational needs (SEN)
  • Assisting teachers in implementing individual education plans for pupils
  • Providing one-to-one support to children with SEN in the classroom
  • Helping pupils with SEN to participate in all aspects of the curriculum
  • Collaborating with other professionals, such as speech therapists and occupational therapists, to support pupil progress

Required Qualifications:

  • Minimum of GCSEs in English and Maths
  • Experience working with individuals with special educational needs
  • Knowledge of SEN strategies and best practises

Education:

Relevant qualifications in education or special educational needs

Experience:

Prior experience working as a teaching assistant or in a similar role

Knowledge and Skills:

  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
  • Ability to work effectively as part of a team
  • Patience and empathy when working with children with SEN

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Additional training in supporting students with autism, dyslexia, or other specific needs
  • First aid certification

Working Conditions:

  • Work primarily takes place in a school setting
  • May involve occasional lifting or assisting pupils with mobility needs
  • Collaboration with teachers, parents, and other professionals is essential

All pay rates quoted will be inclusive of 12.07% statutory holiday pay. This advert is for a temporary position. In some cases, the option to make this role permanent may become available at a later date.
