Position: PMLD Teaching Assistant

Salary: £80 - £100 per day
Working Hours: 8:15 AM to 3:30 PM

Are you passionate about supporting individuals with profound and multiple learning difficulties (PMLD)? Do you have a desire to make a positive impact in their lives? If so, we have an exciting opportunity for you to join our team as a PMLD Teaching Assistant in Ilford.

Role and Responsibilities:
As a PMLD Teaching Assistant, you will play a crucial role in providing support to students with PMLD. Your responsibilities will include:

  • Assisting the class teacher in implementing educational programs for students with PMLD.
  • Supporting students with personal care tasks such as feeding, toileting, and mobility assistance.
  • Creating a safe and inclusive learning environment that promotes students' independence and social skills development.
  • Using various communication strategies to facilitate effective interaction with students.
  • Adapting learning resources and materials to meet individual students' needs.
  • Collaborating with other professionals to deliver comprehensive support to students.
  • Monitoring and recording students' progress and behavior.

Requirements:
To be considered for the role of PMLD Teaching Assistant, you should have:

  • Experience: Previous experience working with individuals with PMLD or similar complex needs is desirable.
  • Empathy and Patience: The ability to empathize, understand, and support individuals with PMLD, while remaining patient and compassionate.
  • Communication Skills: Effective communication skills, both verbal and non-verbal, to build rapport with students.
  • Team Player: The ability to work collaboratively with colleagues, parents/guardians, and external professionals.
  • Flexibility: A willingness to adapt and be creative in supporting students with diverse needs.
  • Safeguarding: A commitment to the safeguarding and welfare of all students.

All pay rates quoted will be inclusive of 12.07% statutory holiday pay. This advert is for a temporary position. In some cases, the option to make this role permanent may become available at a later date.
