Exciting chance for an SEN teaching assistant looking for a new opportunity - Start Date: ASAP
An SEN school based in the London Borough of Hackney is looking for an experienced teaching assistant to join a key stage 3 class in their secondary department. The purpose-built school building is situated near Dalston, and caters for students with a diagnosis of autism and other speech and language based difficulties across key stages 2, 3 and 4.
This is a full time role starting ASAP and the school are looking to trial prospective candidates next week when they go back after half term. The ideal candidate will have:
- A child workforce DBS registered on the update service
- Experience of supporting children with Autism
- Ability to support sensory/social/communication development
- Awareness of or ability to use PECs, Makaton or BSL
- Relevant training in safeguarding, child protection, autism awareness, Team Teach, TEACCH
- Excellent references from your previous places of employment

All pay rates quoted will be inclusive of 12.07% statutory holiday pay. This advert is for a temporary position. In some cases, the option to make this role permanent may become available at a later date.
