Supply Teaching Assistant – SEN Learners | Great Yarmouth
Are you an experienced Teaching Assistant with a passion for supporting pupils with Special Educational Needs (SEN)? Do you have experience working with children across primary or secondary education and want the flexibility of supply work while making a real difference?
Our specialist SEN branch in Norwich is seeking dedicated Supply Teaching Assistants to support students aged 6–16 at an established specialist setting in Great Yarmouth. This is a supply role, offering flexible work opportunities to suit your availability while providing vital support to pupils with additional needs.
All pupils have an Education, Health and Care Plan (EHCP), with a primary focus on Social, Emotional and Mental Health (SEMH) needs. Many pupils also have Autism and come from diverse backgrounds, each with their own individual strengths and challenges.
Key Responsibilities
- Support pupils with Autism and those who may display challenging behaviours.
- Deliver tailored interventions to meet individual learning and emotional needs.
- Adapt learning activities to suit a range of abilities.
- Encourage positive behaviour and promote personal development.
- Work in line with EHCP targets to ensure effective support for every pupil.
Ideal Candidate
- Experience supporting children or young people with SEN, particularly Autism and SEMH.
- Adaptable, flexible and confident working in different educational settings.
- Compassionate, patient and committed to helping pupils achieve their potential.
- Able to remain calm and resilient in challenging situations.
- Willing to undertake relevant training and continuous professional development.
- Must hold a full UK driving licence and have access to a vehicle, as travel to schools and educational settings is an essential part of this supply role.

All pay rates quoted will be inclusive of 12.07% statutory holiday pay. This advert is for a temporary position. In some cases, the option to make this role permanent may become available at a later date.
