Teaching Personnel is recruiting compassionate and dedicated Specialist SEN Teaching Assistants to support pupils with Special Educational Needs (SEN) across schools and specialist provisions in Great Yarmouth and the surrounding areas.

The Role

As a Specialist SEN Teaching Assistant, you will:

  • Provide one-to-one and small group support for pupils with additional needs
  • Help implement individual education plans (IEPs) and support strategies
  • Promote pupil engagement, confidence, and independence
  • Adapt learning activities to meet individual needs
  • Support pupils with communication, social, emotional, and behavioural development
  • Work closely with teachers, SENCOs, therapists, and other professionals
  • Foster a safe, nurturing, and inclusive learning environment

What We're Looking For

  • Have experience supporting children or young people with SEN, either in education, care, youth work, coaching, or similar settings
  • Are patient, resilient, and empathetic
  • Have a genuine passion for supporting vulnerable learners
  • Can build positive relationships and maintain professional boundaries
  • Are adaptable and able to respond positively to changing situations
  • Want to make a lasting impact on the lives of children and young people

Experience supporting pupils with Autism, ADHD, SEMH needs, communication difficulties, or complex learning needs would be particularly advantageous, although full training and support can be provided for the right candidate.


Requirements

To be considered for this role, you must:

  • Have experience working with children, young people, or individuals with additional needs
  • Demonstrate excellent communication and teamwork skills
  • Be committed to supporting the educational, emotional, and social development of pupils
  • Hold a full UK driving licence and have access to your own transport, as travel to schools and specialist provisions across Great Yarmouth and the surrounding areas will be required
  • Be committed to safeguarding and promoting the welfare of children and young people

All pay rates quoted will be inclusive of 12.07% statutory holiday pay. This advert is for a temporary position. In some cases, the option to make this role permanent may become available at a later date.
