A well-established Local Authority Specialist Secondary School in Crosby, Liverpool, is seeking a dedicated and compassionate SEN Teaching Assistant to join its supportive team. The school caters to pupils aged 11–16, all of whom have an Education, Health and Care Plan (EHCP). With a strong commitment to inclusion and personal development, the school provides a nurturing and structured environment for pupils with a range of Special Educational Needs and Disabilities (SEND).

About the Role:

The successful candidate will play a key role in supporting pupils both academically and personally. Working closely with teaching staff and other professionals, the SEN Teaching Assistant will contribute to the delivery of a differentiated curriculum, tailored to meet the individual needs of each student.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Provide one-to-one and group support to pupils with SEND, helping them to overcome barriers to learning.

  • Assist in the planning and delivery of lessons and classroom activities, ensuring materials are adapted to suit varying needs.

  • Foster a safe, inclusive, and supportive learning environment.

  • Encourage the development of pupils’ social skills, independence, and self-esteem.

  • Collaborate with teachers, parents, and external professionals to monitor and support pupils’ progress.

The Ideal Candidate Will Have:

  • Previous experience working as a Teaching Assistant in a SEN or similar setting.

  • A caring and empathetic nature, with a strong commitment to supporting pupils with additional needs.

  • The ability to act as a positive role model, promoting respect, resilience, and confidence.

  • Strong communication and teamwork skills.

  • A dedication to making a meaningful difference in the lives of young people and supporting the wider ethos of the school.

All pay rates quoted will be inclusive of 12.07% statutory holiday pay. This advert is for a temporary position. In some cases, the option to make this role permanent may become available at a later date.
