A well-established Local Authority Specialist Secondary School in Crosby, Liverpool, is seeking a dedicated and compassionate SEN Teaching Assistant to join its supportive team. The school caters to pupils aged 11–16, all of whom have an Education, Health and Care Plan (EHCP). With a strong commitment to inclusion and personal development, the school provides a nurturing and structured environment for pupils with a range of Special Educational Needs and Disabilities (SEND).
About the Role:
The successful candidate will play a key role in supporting pupils both academically and personally. Working closely with teaching staff and other professionals, the SEN Teaching Assistant will contribute to the delivery of a differentiated curriculum, tailored to meet the individual needs of each student.
Key Responsibilities:

Provide one-to-one and group support to pupils with SEND, helping them to overcome barriers to learning.

Assist in the planning and delivery of lessons and classroom activities, ensuring materials are adapted to suit varying needs.

Foster a safe, inclusive, and supportive learning environment.

Encourage the development of pupils’ social skills, independence, and self-esteem.

Collaborate with teachers, parents, and external professionals to monitor and support pupils’ progress.

Previous experience working as a Teaching Assistant in a SEN or similar setting.

All pay rates quoted will be inclusive of 12.07% statutory holiday pay. This advert is for a temporary position. In some cases, the option to make this role permanent may become available at a later date.
