Teaching Personnel work closely with schools in the Cardiff area. We are currently recruiting for an SEN teaching assistant who has experience working with children or adults with Autism.
- Previous experience supporting pupils with Autism
- Consistently and effectively implementing agreed behaviour management strategies
- Ability to work in a way that promotes the safety and wellbeing of children and young people
The Role:
You will be working in a state of the arts SEN school based in Cardiff in small classes alongside other experienced SEN TA's and a specialist ASD Teacher. For this position you will ideally need experience working with young people on the Autism spectrum in a school or care setting, however this is not essential.
The Successful Teaching Assistant will include:
- Motivating and encouraging the pupil as required by providing levels of individual attention, reassurance and help with learning tasks as appropriate to pupils' needs
- Liaising with class teacher, SENCO and other professionals about individual education plans (IEPs), contributing to the planning and delivery as appropriate
- Ensuring the pupils are able to use equipment and materials provided
If you are applying for this role, there are a few things we require from you. You must have:
- References from your two most recent employers.
- A DBS on the Update Service, or be willing to apply for one at a cost of GBP40 for the DBS and GBP13 for the Update Service.
- Experience working with children in a capacity including Youth Worker, Schools, Coaching or Nursing
- Be a team player with excellent communication skills; written and verbal
