We are seeking a caring and committed SEN Teaching Assistant to join our inclusive and nurturing school community. This is a rewarding opportunity to work closely with pupils who require additional support, helping them thrive both academically and socially.

SEN Teaching Assistant

Location: Burnley
Contract Type: Full-Time
Salary: £13.75 - £14.50 per hour
Start Date: As soon as possible

Key Responsibilities:

-          Provide one-to-one and small group support to pupils with a range of SEN needs (e.g., ASD, ADHD, speech and language difficulties, SEMH).

-          Assist the class teacher in delivering tailored learning activities.

-          Help implement individual education plans (IEPs) and behaviour support strategies.

-          Foster a safe, positive, and engaging learning environment.

-          Monitor and record pupil progress, reporting to teachers and SENCO.

-          Support pupils with personal care needs if required.

What We’re Looking For:

-          Experience working with children with SEN (school-based or other relevant settings).

-          A calm, patient, and resilient approach.

-          Excellent communication and teamwork skills.

-          A genuine passion for inclusive education.

-          Relevant qualifications (e.g., Level 2/3 TA, SEN training) are desirable but not essential.

All pay rates quoted will be inclusive of 12.07% statutory holiday pay. This advert is for a temporary position. In some cases, the option to make this role permanent may become available at a later date.
