SEN Teaching Assistant – Full Time (September Start)
Location: Bournemouth, BH7
Contract: Full time, Monday to Friday, long-term

We are working in partnership with a well-established specialist provision in Bournemouth (BH7) seeking to appoint a full-time SEN Teaching Assistant for a September start.

This setting supports pupils with a range of additional needs, including Autism, communication difficulties, and moderate learning needs. The school is committed to providing a structured, nurturing environment where pupils are supported to achieve both academically and socially.

The Role
As an SEN Teaching Assistant, you will play a key role in supporting pupils throughout the school day, helping them access learning and remain engaged in a positive and supportive classroom environment.

Key responsibilities include:

  • Delivering 1:1 and small group support tailored to individual needs
  • Supporting lesson delivery and adapting activities where necessary
  • Assisting with behaviour management and emotional regulation
  • Promoting independence, confidence, and active participation
  • Supporting pupils during transitions and less structured periods
  • Working collaboratively with teaching staff and SEN professionals

The Ideal Candidate
To be successful in this role, you will:

  • Have experience working with SEN pupils or within an educational setting
  • Be patient, consistent, and able to build positive relationships
  • Demonstrate a calm, proactive approach to behaviour support
  • Work effectively as part of a team
  • Be available full time, Monday to Friday

All pay rates quoted will be inclusive of 12.07% statutory holiday pay. This advert is for a temporary position. In some cases, the option to make this role permanent may become available at a later date.
