SEN Teaching Assistant – Secondary School in Bolton

We are recruiting a dedicated and resilient SEN Teaching Assistant to join a supportive secondary school in Bolton. This is a full‑time position working with students who require additional support, including those with behavioural needs, SEMH, and learning difficulties.

The Role:
As an SEN TA, you will work closely with teachers, pastoral teams, and SENCOs to support students both in and out of the classroom. The school is looking for someone who can stay calm under pressure, manage challenging behaviour effectively, and build strong, trusting relationships with young people.

Key Responsibilities:
• Support students with SEN on a 1:1 basis and in small groups
• Assist in delivering tailored learning plans and interventions
• Implement behaviour management strategies consistently
• Build positive rapport with students to encourage engagement and progress
• Work collaboratively with teaching staff, SENCO, and pastoral teams
• Help create an inclusive, safe, and supportive learning environment

Requirements:
• Experience working with SEN or challenging behaviour (school or alternative settings)
• Confident in behaviour management
• Ability to build strong relationships with students and staff
• Resilient, patient, and committed to supporting young people
• Enhanced DBS on the Update Service (or willingness to apply)
