Job Title: SEN Teaching Assistant
Location: Halifax
Daily Rate: £85 – £100
Job Type: Full-Time or Part-Time / Temporary (Temp-to-Perm Potential)
Start Date: September 2025
Are you a patient, proactive, and caring individual looking to support children with special educational needs? We’re recruiting SEN Teaching Assistants in the Halifax area for a range of rewarding roles across local schools.
About the Role:
You will support pupils with a variety of additional needs including Autism (ASD), ADHD, SEMH, and learning difficulties. Roles may involve one-to-one support, small group work, or general classroom assistance, depending on the needs of the setting. No two days are the same – flexibility and compassion are key.
Your Responsibilities May Include:

Supporting individual pupils to access learning

Assisting with personal care, emotional regulation, and behaviour support
-
Helping to implement strategies from EHCPs and learning plans
-
Encouraging independence and confidence in pupils
-
Working closely with teachers, SENCOs, and external professionals
We’re Looking For:

Experience supporting children or young people with SEN (formal or informal)

A calm, resilient, and empathetic approach
-
Good communication and teamwork skills
-
A willingness to adapt and learn in a fast-paced environment
-
Relevant qualifications are welcomed but not essential

All pay rates quoted will be inclusive of 12.07% statutory holiday pay. This advert is for a temporary position. In some cases, the option to make this role permanent may become available at a later date.
