SEN Teaching Assistant – Full Time
Location: Plymouth
Hours: Monday – Friday | 8:30am – 3:30pm | Term Time Only
Contract: Full-Time

Teaching Personnel are currently recruiting a dedicated and experienced SEN Teaching Assistant to work full-time in schools across Plymouth, supporting pupils with Special Educational Needs.

This is a rewarding, hands-on role suited to a confident individual who can provide consistent, patient and structured support to children who require additional help to access education and thrive in the classroom.

The Role

  • Provide 1:1 and small group support for pupils with Special Educational Needs

  • Work closely with teachers, SENCOs and support staff to support learning and behaviour

  • Help pupils develop engagement, emotional regulation and independence

  • Implement strategies outlined in EHCPs, IEPs and behaviour support plans

  • Support students both inside and outside of the classroom where required

  • Contribute to creating a safe, inclusive and supportive learning environment

Requirements

  • Previous experience supporting children or young people with SEN

  • Confidence supporting pupils with additional learning or behavioural needs

  • Full UK driving licence and access to a vehicle

  • Business-use car insurance (or willingness to obtain)

  • Reliable, patient and adaptable approach

  • Strong communication and teamwork skills

  • A genuine passion for supporting vulnerable young people

Working Hours

  • Monday – Friday

  • 8:30am – 3:30pm

  • Term-time only

All pay rates quoted will be inclusive of 12.07% statutory holiday pay. This advert is for a temporary position. In some cases, the option to make this role permanent may become available at a later date.
