Job Title: SEN Teaching Assistant (Special Educational Needs)

Location: West London, various Catholic schools

About Us: Join Teaching Personnel who specialise in providing dedicated support to Catholic schools across West London. We are committed to ensuring that every student receives the necessary support and guidance to thrive academically and personally.

Position Overview: We are seeking empathetic and dedicated SEN Teaching Assistants to work within our network of Catholic schools, supporting students with a range of Special Educational Needs. This role requires a compassionate individual who can provide tailored assistance to students with needs such as autism spectrum disorder (ASD), attention deficit hyperactivity disorder (ADHD), and Non-Verbal Communication.

Responsibilities:

  • Work closely with SENCOs (Special Educational Needs Coordinators) and teachers to implement individual education plans (IEPs) for students with diverse needs.
  • Provide one-on-one or small group support to students, ensuring their specific learning needs are met.
  • Foster a positive and inclusive learning environment that promotes the social, emotional, and academic development of students with SEN.
  • Employ various strategies and resources to assist students in overcoming barriers to learning.
  • Collaborate with teachers, parents, and external agencies to facilitate holistic support for students with SEN.

Requirements:

  • Previous experience working with children or young adults with SEN, particularly ASD, ADHD, and Non-Verbal needs.
  • Understanding of different learning styles and strategies to support diverse needs.
  • Empathy, patience, and a genuine passion for helping students with SEN reach their full potential.
  • Strong communication skills and the ability to collaborate effectively with school staff and external professionals.
  • Relevant qualifications in Special Educational Needs or a related field are advantageous.

  • Location: West London, placements in Catholic schools
  • Contract Type: Flexible, based on school placements
  • Start Date: Immediate availability preferred
  • Salary: Competitive, based on experience and qualifications

All pay rates quoted will be inclusive of 12.07% statutory holiday pay. This advert is for a temporary position. In some cases, the option to make this role permanent may become available at a later date.
