We are hiring an experienced and proactive SEN Teaching Assistant to provide 1:1 support for a pupil with autism in an inclusive and supportive school environment. This Autism Support role is a fantastic opportunity for someone passionate about Special Educational Needs (SEN) and child development, with a strong interest in building life skills and educational progress.

Role Overview:

As a 1:1 SEN Teaching Assistant, you’ll:

• Support a pupil with autism in mainstream classes and a dedicated Autism Resource Base
• Assist with GCSE-level learning and daily class engagement
• Provide tailored life skills support (communication, independence, routine)
• Encourage positive social behaviour through patient, firm guidance
• Collaborate with teachers, therapists, and pastoral staff

What We’re Looking For:

• Experience working with children with additional needs/SEN or vulnerable adults
• Calm, adaptable, and emotionally resilient
• Ability to offer patient yet consistent support
• Comfortable with secondary-level content, especially GCSE support
• Passionate about inclusive education and supporting neurodiverse learners
