SEN Teaching Assistant (1:1 Autism Support)
Full-Time, Term-Time Only
Location: Vale of Glamorgan
£90-£95 daily rate

We are hiring an experienced and proactive SEN Teaching Assistant to provide 1:1 support for a pupil with autism in an inclusive and supportive school environment. This Autism Support role is a fantastic opportunity for someone passionate about Special Educational Needs (SEN) and child development, with a strong interest in building life skills and educational progress.

Role Overview:
As a 1:1 SEN Teaching Assistant, you’ll:
- Support a pupil with autism in mainstream classes and a dedicated Autism Resource Base
- Assist with GCSE-level learning and daily class engagement
- Provide tailored life skills support (communication, independence, routine)
- Encourage positive social behaviour through patient, firm guidance
- Collaborate with teachers, therapists, and pastoral staff
What We’re Looking For:
- Experience working with children with additional needs/SEN or vulnerable adults
- Calm, adaptable, and emotionally resilient
- Ability to offer patient yet consistent support
- Comfortable with secondary-level content, especially GCSE support
- Passionate about inclusive education and supporting neurodiverse learners

All pay rates quoted will be inclusive of 12.07% statutory holiday pay. This advert is for a temporary position. In some cases, the option to make this role permanent may become available at a later date.
