SEN Teachers & Learning Support Assistants

Location: Portsmouth

Pay:

  • Learning Support Assistants: £13.75 per hour
  • Teachers: MPS/UPS (£32,916 – £51,048)

Start Date: ASAP
Contract Type: Multiple roles available

About the Roles

Teaching Personnel are working with SEND schools and specialist provisions across Portsmouth and the surrounding Hampshire area to recruit qualified Teachers and Learning Support Assistants.

Role Responsibilities

Teachers

  • Deliver engaging, SEND-focused lessons tailored to individual pupil needs
  • Assess, track, and report on pupil progress
  • Work closely with LSAs, SENCOs, and the wider school team
  • Create a safe, structured, and inclusive learning environment

Learning Support Assistants (LSAs)

  • Support pupils on a 1:1 basis or in small groups
  • Assist teachers with lesson delivery and classroom management
  • Support children with SEND, SEMH, or additional learning needs
  • Help create a nurturing and inclusive classroom environment

Who We’re Looking For

  • Qualified Teachers (QTS or equivalent)
  • Experienced LSAs or Teaching Assistants
  • Candidates passionate about supporting pupils in SEND settings
  • Individuals who hold an enhanced child-only DBS

All pay rates quoted will be inclusive of 12.07% statutory holiday pay. This advert is for a temporary position. In some cases, the option to make this role permanent may become available at a later date.
