SEN Teacher – Secondary Schools
Location: Portsmouth and surrounding areas
Salary: £32,916 – £51,048 per annum (dependent on experience, in line with MPS/UPS)
Contract: Full-time and Part-time opportunities available

About the Role
Teaching Personnel is seeking passionate and dedicated SEN Teachers to work within Secondary Special Educational Needs (SEN) schools across the Portsmouth area. This is a highly rewarding opportunity to support students with a range of additional needs, delivering tailored education and helping them achieve their full potential.

Key Responsibilities

• Plan, deliver, and assess engaging lessons tailored to students with SEN
• Adapt the curriculum to meet individual learning needs and abilities
• Create a safe, inclusive, and stimulating classroom environment
• Work collaboratively with teaching assistants, SENCOs, and external professionals
• Monitor, record, and report on student progress and development
• Support students’ social, emotional, and behavioural needs

Requirements

• Qualified Teacher Status (QTS) or equivalent
• Experience working with students with SEN (desirable but not essential)
• Strong understanding of differentiated teaching strategies
• Excellent communication and classroom management skills
• A patient, resilient, and nurturing approach

Compliance Requirements

• Applicants must have a Child Workforce DBS on the Update Service, or be willing to obtain one
