SEN Teacher (QTS) – Post-16
The Opportunity
An exceptional opportunity to join a well-established specialist college in Yeovil, Somerset, set within a beautiful rural environment. This setting is highly regarded for its supportive ethos, strong multidisciplinary approach and commitment to helping young people achieve independence and life skills. You will work with learners aged 16 to 18, supporting those with Special Educational Needs (SEN) including autism spectrum conditions, moderate to severe learning difficulties, and complex behavioural, emotional and medical needs.
Role & Responsibilities
- Plan and deliver creative, differentiated lessons tailored to individual needs
- Support students in achieving EHCP outcomes, including independence and life skills
- Act as a personal tutor for a small group of learners
- Manage and support complex behaviours positively
- Work collaboratively within a multi-disciplinary team
- Contribute to a broad curriculum, including functional skills and PSHE
Working Hours & Pay
- Full-time, permanent role with immediate start
- Pay: In line with Teacher Main Pay Scale
- Term-time position within a specialist setting
What We’re Looking For
- QTS, PGCE or equivalent teaching qualification
- Experience or strong interest in SEN and autism
- Ability to deliver engaging, structured and adaptive lessons
- Confident managing diverse and complex needs
- Passion for supporting young people towards independence

All pay rates quoted will be inclusive of 12.07% statutory holiday pay. This advert is for a temporary position. In some cases, the option to make this role permanent may become available at a later date.
