We are recruiting for a SEN Teacher to support in an OFSTED ‘Outstanding’ rated primary school for pupils aged 2-11 who experience severe or profound difficulties in learning.
The school supports the growth and development of pupils aged 2-11 and is responsible for devising personalised curriculums for the achievement of each child. In addition to this, the schools have a multi-professional approach to their pupils by providing speech, language and physiotherapists combined with creative approaches from musicians and sports coaches to support their young people to achieve both academically socially and morally.
Your role as a SEN Teacher would be to create lesson to meet the learners needs. This would include a curriculum based around academic and social progression. You would create lessons aimed to allow the young people to express themselves in a practical and easy way, as well as design tasks to help the young people succeed in their lives beyond the school with a key focus on independent living skills.
All of this is then further supplemented with high range equipment targeted at SEN pupils including soft rooms and hydrotherapy pools. Which you as the SEN Teacher would make use of to supply the best learning environment you can.
The school require a SEN Teacher to match their ethos and values so the ideal candidate should have:
- QTS
- A patient, calm and caring personality
- Experience of working with SEN environment particularly with experience severe or profound difficulties in learning including Autism
- A strong ability to develop relationships and rapport with both pupils and parents
The school is located in the Flixton area of Trafford and has excellent public transport links particularly by train and bus within a few minutes walk of the school.
In addition, you will need to complete all necessary vetting checks including proof of identity, a DBS on the Update Service and producing two recent references.
