 SEN Teacher – Primary or Secondary | Southampton | £32,916 – £51,048 per annum 
Through Teaching Personnel | 

Are you a passionate, dedicated educator with a commitment to supporting pupils with Special Educational Needs? Teaching Personnel is seeking enthusiastic SEN Teachers to work across specialist SEN schools in Southampton, with opportunities available in both primary and secondary settings.

We are recruiting for flexible ad hoc roles, as well as long-term and permanent positions, giving you the freedom to choose a working pattern that suits your lifestyle.


 About the Role

As an SEN Teacher, you will:

  • Deliver engaging, tailored lessons to pupils with a range of additional needs (including ASD, SEMH, MLD, SLD, or complex needs)

  • Create a safe, positive, and structured learning environment

  • Work collaboratively with support staff, therapists, and school leadership teams

  • Adapt teaching approaches to meet individual EHCP targets

  • Build trusting relationships with pupils to support their social, emotional, and academic development


 What We’re Looking For

  • Qualified Teacher Status (QTS) or equivalent

  • Experience working within an SEN setting (desirable but not essential)

  • Strong behaviour management and differentiation skills

  • A nurturing, patient, and resilient approach

  • A commitment to inclusive education and personalised learning


Pay & Benefits

  • Salary to scale: £32,916 – £51,048 per annum (depending on experience and responsibilities)

All pay rates quoted will be inclusive of 12.07% statutory holiday pay. This advert is for a temporary position. In some cases, the option to make this role permanent may become available at a later date.
