Role Description:

We are currently seeking a dedicated and passionate SEN Teacher to join a reputable secondary SEN school in Southampton. The school caters for children aged 11-16 with Severe Learning Difficulties. This is a full-time teaching position with working hours from 8:45am to 3:15pm, Monday to Friday.

Responsibilities:

  • Plan, prepare, and deliver engaging lessons tailored to the needs of students with Severe Learning Difficulties.
  • Provide a supportive and inclusive learning environment.
  • Differentiate teaching methods to accommodate diverse learning styles.
  • Collaborate with other staff members and professionals to enhance the overall educational experience for students.
  • Monitor and assess student progress, providing feedback to both students and parents/guardians.
  • Contribute to the development and implementation of Individual Education Plans (IEPs).

 

Qualifications and Requirements:

  • Qualified Teacher Status (QTS) or equivalent.
  • Experience working with students with Severe Learning Difficulties is highly desirable.
  • Strong understanding of SEN practices and a commitment to inclusive education.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Ability to work collaboratively within a multidisciplinary team.
  • A positive and nurturing approach to teaching.

All pay rates quoted will be inclusive of 12.07% statutory holiday pay. This advert is for a temporary position. In some cases, the option to make this role permanent may become available at a later date.
