SEN Teacher – Full Time – September Start

Location: Trafford | Salary: Competitive | Contract: Full-Time, Long-Term

We are recruiting for an enthusiastic Special Educational Needs Teacher to join a highly supportive specialist school catering for pupils aged 3–16 years with a range of complex needs, including:

  • Autism Spectrum Condition (ASC)
  • Severe Learning Difficulties (SLD)
  • Profound and Multiple Learning Difficulties (PMLD)
  • Communication and sensory processing needs

The school provides a caring, structured, and inclusive environment, where pupils are supported to achieve their full potential both academically and personally.


The Role – SEN Teacher

As an SEN Teacher, you will:

  • Plan and deliver creative, differentiated lessons tailored to individual EHCP outcomes
  • Lead a class of pupils with diverse and complex needs
  • Work closely with a team of Teaching Assistants and support staff
  • Implement individualised learning strategies and behaviour support plans
  • Foster a positive, safe and engaging learning environment
  • Monitor and assess pupil progress, adapting teaching approaches accordingly
  • Support students’ communication, independence, and life skills development

✅ Requirements – What We’re Looking For

To be successful in this SEN Teacher role, you will have:

  • Qualified Teacher Status (QTS) or equivalent
  • Experience working with SEN / SEND / Autism / complex needs (school or specialist setting)
  • A strong understanding of differentiation, EHCPs, and inclusive teaching strategies
  • Excellent classroom management and communication skills
  • A patient, empathetic and proactive approach
  • A genuine passion for supporting children with additional needs

Early Career Teachers (ECTs) with relevant SEN experience or placements are also encouraged to apply.
