SEN Teacher
Job description
We are seeking a passionate and dedicated SEN Teacher to join one of our SEN secondary schools in the Manchester area. The successful candidate will play a vital role in supporting students with a range of complex needs, ranging from Autism, profound and multiple learning difficulties, physical disabilities and communication and social delays. You will deliver high-quality, differentiated teaching and learning, ensuring every student is supported to achieve their full potential.
The Key Responsibilities
- Plan, deliver, and assess lessons tailored to the individual needs of students with autism, PMLD, physical disabilities, and communication/social delays.
- Develop and implement Individual Education Plans (IEPs) in collaboration with colleagues, parents, and external professionals.
- Foster a positive, inclusive, and safe learning environment.
- Monitor and report on student progress, adapting strategies as needed.
- Work closely with teaching assistants and other staff to provide holistic support.
- Engage with parents and carers to ensure effective communication and partnership.
The Ideal Candidate Will Have
- Qualified Teacher Status (QTS) with experience in SEN (or equivalent).
- Proven experience teaching students with autism, PMLD, physical disabilities, and/or communication and social delays at secondary level.
- Strong knowledge of the SEN Code of Practice and current educational legislation.
- Excellent communication, organisational, and interpersonal skills.
- A commitment to safeguarding and promoting the welfare of children and young people.
Requirements
- An enhanced DBS on the update service
- Safeguarding training (provided by us)
- At least 2 employment references (from the past 2 years)

All pay rates quoted will be inclusive of 12.07% statutory holiday pay. This advert is for a temporary position. In some cases, the option to make this role permanent may become available at a later date.
